Aladdin

The show opened with the dramatic entrance of evil magician Abanazer, who sets out to enlist Aladdin’s help in bringing him the magic lamp of Henton. From the minute Abanazer (Steve Collinson) strode onto the stage he made it his own, cue much booing and hissing.

Wizard of Oz

To take on the production and much loved characters of The Wizard of Oz is no small challenge. Wookey Theatre Group rose to it brilliantly, delivering the magic of the original with a fresh helping of its own brand of humour and a few twists and turns in the Yellow Brick Road.

Sleeping Beauty

It is 1977 and rock’n’roll rules in the Kingdom of Wookey. Ziggy Stardust lookalike King Neville and Queen Daneka are planning a big party to celebrate the christening of their daughter Princess Whatsername.

Jungle Book

If you missed Wookey Youth Theatre’s production of Jungle Book Kids – you missed out. The cast performed their version of the story of Mowgli to a packed Wookey Church Hall on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. A stunning set, designed by Tony Pizzey was revealed as the curtain went up.

Snow White

From the minute the curtain went up at Saturday’s matinee performance of Snow White and the Seven Doodahs, the audience was hooked. Wookey Pantomime Group gave the classic tale of Snow White a fun fuelled injection of wit and musical brilliance with their performance.

Bugsy Malone

As the audience arrived at Fat Sam’s Grand Slam (Wookey Church Hall) for Wookey Youth Theatre’s Bugsy Malone you could tell it was going to be fun. The bouncer on the door whispered the password to enter the ‘speakeasy’ where the action lost no time in getting started.

Joseph

You could feel the excitement in the air as you walked into Wookey Church Hall on the opening night of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The show opened on Wednesday June 19, the hottest day of the year and Wookey Youth Theatre delivered a sizzling performance.
